Antwoorden
- I want to have my sound level meter / sound analyser calibrated. Is this possible?
Yes. Fill in your details, in the request form or contact us by phone or email. Please see our contact details. A traceable test can always be performed and, depending on the make and type of sound level meter, an accredited calibration according to the IEC-61672 standard for sound level meters can be carried out. An accredited calibration can be performed at least for sound level meters of various manufacturers with type approval. - I want to have my calibrator calibrated. Is this possible?
Yes. Fill in your details in the request form or contact us by phone or email. Please see our contact details. An accredited calibration of a calibrator according to standard IEC-60942 can be performed at least for calibrators of various manufacturers with type approval (type approval). - Are you accredited by the Accreditation Council?
Yes, we are accredited by the Accreditation Council for the calibration and periodic testing of sound level meters and calibrators.
View our RvA K168 Calibration scope. - Is the calibration an accredited calibration that meets the requirements in EN ISO/IEC 17025?
Yes. EN ISO/IEC 17025 is a standard established for all testing and calibration laboratories and not exclusively for accreditation purposes. When we perform the accredited calibration of a sound level meter or calibrator, we always follow our quality system that complies with EN ISO/IEC 17025. - Is the calibration traceable?
Yes, regardless of whether we perform an accredited calibration or a traceable test/justification; all calibrations and tests we perform are always traceable to national and/or internationally accepted standards. - What is the calibration lead time for a sound level meter / how often should I have it calibrated?
This is defined in the standard according to which you perform the noise measurements. This period can be 1 year or 2 years. If the standard according to which you perform the noise measurements does not define a period, the calibration period of the manufacturer of the measuring instrument is usually used, but this is not a legal requirement. - What is the lead time for a calibration / how long does the calibration procedure take?
We aim for a turnaround time of 3 working days excluding transport time. Sometimes it takes a day longer, sometimes it can be a day faster. Read more about calibration here: quality & procedure. - Does the calibration come with a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a calibration certificate with every calibration. - Is there a difference between an accredited calibration of a class 1 and a class 2 sound meter / calibrator?
There is no technical difference between an accredited calibration of a class 1 and a class 2 sound level meter/calibrator. However, the tolerance limits and test frequencies are different. - Can I have several sound meters/calibrators calibrated at the same time?
Yes, in that case we make sure that all your instruments go through the calibration procedure at the same time and are thus back in your possession at the same time. - Why is regular calibration necessary?
While performing a sound measurement, you use your own calibrator to adjust the sound meter at the measurement location exactly to the air pressure of the moment. However, the standard according to which you perform measurements requires that both the sound meter and your own calibrator are periodically tested and calibrated externally by a laboratory deemed competent to do so. For you as a user, this is the only way to ensure that the entire measurement chain meets the requirements of the IEC-61672 standard (for sound meters) or the IEC-60942 standard (for calibrators). The calibration we perform is basically a check of the sound meter or calibrator and any accessories for a wide range of test items and specifications, and a final calibration when all tests have been successfully completed. - Why is it best to choose Bureau Geluid Calibration Laboratory for calibration?
We are a Council for Accreditation-accredited laboratory that works according to a quality management system, following EN ISO/IEC 17025.
We work with clear procedures and open communication. We carry out calibration quickly. Your instrument will not be shipped abroad.
That is why you should choose Bureau Geluid Calibration Laboratory. - When can we reach you?
We can be reached by phone on working days during office hours, but we may be carrying out measurements or calibrations. In that case, please leave a message on our voicemail and we will call you back within one working day. You can also send an e-mail. On working days, we always answer these messages within 48 hours. - Can our measuring instruments to be calibrated be dropped off and picked up at the laboratory?
Yes, and we welcome this because you can then always be sure how the transport took place. In that case, please contact us in advance to plan the drop-off and pick-up. See our contact details. - What does calibrating a sound level meter or calibrator cost?
Please contact us for this. - What is calibration/calibration (in general)?
Calibration is comparing a system or device to a standard to determine its properties. Adjusting to bring it in line with the specification is called adjusting. A calibration consists of first calibrating and then adjusting. (source: wikipedia)

Bureau Geluid Calibration Laboratory is part of Bureau Geluid, which was founded in 2003 by Walter Hennissen
as an acoustic consultancy working in the research field of noise, vibration, acoustics and climate.
AnneMiek Dankbaar joined as a partner in 2006.
From the start, we received many requests to supply measurement equipment in addition to our noise and vibration measurement and consulting services, to design and build noise measurement stations, and to perform data management of these stations.
Soon our supply program expanded to include many of the leading professional brands for noise and vibration measurement equipment, including Cirrus Research, Cesva Instruments, Microtech Gefell, Roga Instruments and Embedded Acoustis. In 2010 we established a calibration laboratory, Bureau Sound Calibration Laboratory, which was accredited by the Accreditation Council EN ISO/ IEC 17025 in February 2017 for sound meters, octave and third band filters and sound calibrators. We calibrate sound level meters, analyzers and calibrators from virtually all major manufacturers (Cirrus, Cesva, Bruel & Kjaer, Rion, Svantek, 01 dB, Larson Davis, Norsonic, NTI, Embedded Acoustics...).
When you contact us, we will speak to you personally. If we are temporarily unavailable due to measurements or calibration work, we will always call back when you leave a message. We avoid complicated procedures, communicate openly with you, keep our costs low and work quickly and efficiently.
